The ACCU-WAVES project participates in the in the 1st International Scientific Conference on Design and Management of Harbor, Coastal and Offshore Works.. The conference is organised by the Laboratory of Harbor Works, of the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, School of Civil Engineering, further to the successful conferences of:

• Harbor Works
• Management and Improvement of Coastal Areas
• Tourist Ports, Marinas

and with the collaboration of the Laboratory for Floating Structures and Mooring Systems of the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, the Laboratory of Maritime Engineering and Maritime Works of the department of Civil Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory of the department of Civil Engineering of the University of Patras and the support of the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (HCMR), the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, the Ministry of Tourism, the Secretariat General for the Aegean and Island Policy, The Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE-TCG), the Hellenic Council for Civil Engineers (SPME), the Hellenic Association of Consulting Firms (HELLASCO), the Hellenic Institute of Marine Technology, the Athens Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The conference aims to present and stimulate comprehensive discussions on the contemporary and state-of-the-art scientific and technological advantages associated with the design, construction and management of harbor, coastal and offshore structures, emphasizing in supporting infrastructures for ships and floating structures of all kinds at large, the protection of coastal areas against erosion, the long lasting formation of coastal zone morphology, the protection of the environment and the assessment of the risks associated with the manmade harbor, coastal and offshore infrastructures, wave propagation and the protection of the coastal zones against extreme environmental conditions, the construction, installation and management of offshore structures (fixed and floating) for underwater mining and exploitation of hydrocarbons, their storage and transportation as well as to the high tech systems for sustainable energy conversion and exploitation (wind and wave).
